The source archives are auto-generated daily on a Linux system, so sometime problems related to the different EOL handling between DOS and Unix/Linux are possible, the more common is a Visual Studio error trying to load the squid.dsw Workspace. To avoid this, when extracting source files, a conversion of all text file to DOS format (CR+LF) may be needed.

Winzip can do this automatically, see TAR File smart CR/LF conversion options.
